Hi
Looks like you have suprised a deer having a whole heap of fun all by himself...! I like the eye contact, I dislike the grass stalks.. I might consider removing a little from the bottom.

I think that Sambar deer is taking a big chance to enjoy himself, as Tigers like to conceal themselves close to a watering hole in ambush.
I think the crop works, likewise the techs, but reducing the Red in Saturation does bring back more natural looking colours and better tonal detail I feel, especially in the subject. If you have PS, looking at the histogram in Levels, the graph certainly falls short on the RHS, so moving the RH slider in to say 230 helps. You need to try and have more of a spared within that histogram from Black to White. If you have a minute, read Artie's ETTR (exposing to the right) on his blog http://www.birdsasart-blog.com/2011/...ttr-revelation, it will help you achieve more within the RAW capture.

This is an amazing unique capture of the deer! The eye contact is great and assures one that the deer is very much alive. Good color suggestions by Steve.
Really interesting behaviour. Not heard of this or seen it before. Agree with Steve, and think it could have a little more sharpening too.
