I am trying to get a handle on the flycatchers. I encountered this bird in SE Idaho in early June.

He he, as you can see from the lack of responses, this family of birds a real tough one to figure out without have heard the vocalizations!! Going with a system of elimination based on location and date we are left with Cordilleran (but yours seems too grey), Willow, Hammond's, Dusky, and Gray Flycatchers, and Western-wood Pewee. Bill size would eliminate Hammond's and Dusky.

I'd lean on Willow based on the whitish throat, but man-o-man this is definitely not a 100% certain ruling!!

I agree with Daniel on bill size, along with the extent of yellow on the underside of the bill, knocking out Hammond's and Dusky. I'd expect Cordilleran to show a stronger eyering with a teardrop at the back, plus a much more colorful back. I'll lean towards Daniel's call of Willow for the reason mention plus a lame eyering and moderately long primary extension.
