    Taken at Wakodahatchee a couple of weeks agao as it was involved in nest building.

    Nikon D300
    Nikon 300mm F2.8
    ISO 250
    1/1000. F8

    This works very well. I like the detail in the blues on the bill. Super creamy bg also.

    I like this a lot Judy !!! Dramatic lighting and love the look !!! About the only thing I would change is the large oof white spots behind the head !!! Can't wait for the chicks !!!

    Hi Judy,
    Alfred mentioned the OOF whitish spots........maybe just blending them a bit more as I feel they make the bill stand out more. What makes this one super for me is the "mohawk"...or feathers sticking up!

    Lovely image. The bg doesn't bother me. These are one of my fav species. Love their colors. Nice and sharp!

    Judy, this is so nice. I love the colors, angle and sharpness. My only suggestion would be to blend the bg just a bit to minimize the whitish blotches.

    Superb image Judy! I kinda like the OOF white spots as to me they help distinguish the head & bill and I think add more interest. Great color and light (I always get a shiny bill).

    Very nice indeed!
