    Default Red-necked Phalarope

Here's one that I just processed from last June's wonderful trip to Nome. The target species for this outing was long-tailed ducks, but when the ducks were doing other things, these little ones were right in front of our lenses. Too beautiful to be ignored. This is nearly full frame…leveled, dust spotted, detail extractor on whites of neck, sharpened.

Thank you for looking and for your comments.

Superb image Grace! I like the low POV, the open beak and amazing amount of detail on the bird.

What a beauty, Grace. Love the position of the head, open beak with water in it, bow wave, lovely colors in the water. Plus the POV and techs. Nicely done.

Not sure if I used the correct profile…does this look different? I also added a few points of brightness.

    Thank you all.

    Hi Grace
I prefer th first. All been said-great everything. If it was mine and it isnt !!! -I would brak up the rather symetrical reflection of the neck. But thats just me and reflections. No big deal
    Cheers

I don't see much difference between the 2 except the increased brightness.
I think I like the first best. It has a very peaceful and calm feeling to it.
Technically excellent with tack sharp details and processing. Love the low POV, slightly open bill and calm water.
I like the subtle colors in the BG
    Good one Grace,

I love these little guys. So cool to watch their twitchy movements and that high speed circular feeding action that they do. The shot looks fantastic and the techs look perfect to me. I like the second one with just a tad of brightness added. Been trying to get a good shot of these guys for years. Have a few, but not like this. Well done Grace.

The IQ here is out of this world, Grace. The slight wave and open beak add quite a bit. Your low angle proved really beneficial and offer us such a great view.
