Redstart -female.
Disaster today. The Little owls are having a bad time with the atrocious weather so I thought I;ll leave them alone to get on best they can. (I,ve been helping them out with a few worms and mealworms)
I walked all the way with portable hide and gear, to the Redstart with young only to find them predated- all gone. Thats two redstart nests I,ve had this year which have got to the young in box stage and then been predated. Ithink its greater spotted Woodpeckers but not 100% sure. Never known a year like this. Starlings are already flocking up and the hawthorns have plump geen berries - in early June !!
Any way here's a female from the archives. One of my favourites.Such gentle looking birds. And that tail!!- in the right light.! ( And in focus !!!)

Beauty shot, John. Love the warm colors in the bird. Nice perch, background and the foliage with the flower buds at the top is a great finishing touch.
A nice image.
I would clone out the 2 OOF leaves along the upper left hand edge.
There is also a round smudge 1 cm to the left of the perch above your name that should be cleaned up.
Exposure and details on the bird are lovely.Nice soft light.
I also like the nice head turn this little gal gave you,
Gail
Thanks all
Pamela. The bird was completely surrounded by green Spring leaves with green grass in the back so its maybe just picked some of that up.
I,ll get around to a tidy up later.
