Pamela, what a lovely, colorful image. Sharp throughout and a nice pose.

Nice composition and the technical aspects look perfect. I wonder if the setup would look even better if the stick continued through to the left edge of the frame. That said, I like it very much as is.

What a beautiful bird, Pamela. How lucky you are to have these creatures so close. All techs look fine. Great BG too. The only thing IMO is the setup perch seems to be an upright branch, but the positioning has the leaves and berries pointing diagonally and downward.

Excellent shot! Beautiful bird, colors, perch and BG! Agree with Geoffrey's comments re the placement of the perch. But you might not have got this beautiful pose if it was placed upright.

What a balcony you must have! Spectacular colors, good detail, pose, head turn. If you could have had the perch parallel to the sensor plane, you might have gotten that sharp too. I see Geoffrey's point about the perch, but frankly would never have noticed. A lovely image.

Geoffrey, Thanks for bringing the position of the branch to my attention. Geoffrey I have share a little secret with you. I photograph these beautiful birds from the comfort of my living room. I have to say that is doesn't make it any easier.
    Cheers, Pamela

Thanks Joe. I have to agree that the little tweak makes all the difference. Pamela

Good work Pamela. No matter how many times one gets to see these birds, they always look spectacular, and you have captured the vibrancy and colour perfectly. The only tiny little point I want to mention is that on my monitor I see a couple of leaves looking bluish and there is a sliver of blue along the edge of the perch in the shadow under the bird. Maybe it is just a reflection from the sky or perhaps something on your balcony. Cheers, Ian.

That is one heck of a balcony you have!
I like the OP the best. The repost seems to have lost it's critical sharpness and picked up a blue hue.
The colors are wonderful and the DOF is perfect.
I am OK with the original comp but would have liked for all the berry clump to be included. But, that may have made the image too bottom heavy.

    Gail

What a great image and a beautiful bird! The bird actually seems almost unreal, our avians here in Northern Europe are usually a bit more modest-looking :)
I like the perch, BG, pose and details.
