I took this in my garden. 105mm macro lens.
Processed in Elements 10: High Pass filter twice; dodge and burn; paint; saturation sponge; CEP> Contrast Color Range and Skylight; Texture "Xanthe" by Kim Klassen.

    Constructive Critique welcome!

I love the soft effects you achieve with many of your flower images. The purple flower is dreamy with just a bit of detail in the veins of the closest petal. For me the hanging blossom has too much detail and I think I would prefer to be soft like the flower. My eye keeps dropping to that sharper appearing blossom.

Thanks, Nancy. I see exactly what you mean about the bud. Will work on it.

Is this better? I also added another texture.

I just love these flowers, I have some in my garden as well but they only last a short spell in early spring before submitting to the heat in New Mexico.

I like the OP better, love the details on the bud.... only thing I notice is a lighter green halo ring right behind the main flower.... I would remove that and make the BG more of a neutral green like the rest of it.

Very pretty Anita! I like your repost a bit more with the reduced detail in the bud. The colors are perfect together, complementary by being opposite each other on the color wheel. You are the queen of flowers! I am trying to learn flower photography and your images are inspirational.
