I've really been trying to do more flower images and I have a lot of respect for those of you who do such nice ones. This is a white rose from the front yard with one of my own watercolor textures added. I also used a couple of Topaz filters and the radial filter in LR on the center part of the flower.

Love those soft, delicate watercolor blues and purples! I wonder how the image would look with those bright oranges in the rose center a little less bright? They really claim my attention and I want to spend more visual time with the blues and purples. This looks good for the "Summertime theme". Do you want me to add it?

I thought it was a Himalayan poppy. I like the contrasts between sharp/ smooth, and soft pastels with more primary colours. Very soothing.

Nancy, more like this for you? I had to chuckle because I made the center of the flower more prominent because I wanted it to be the focal point of the image.

I think you did a great job! I love that you changed the rose to blue. The center is great, and it is where my eye goes first, then out to the soft petals. To my taste, you toned down the center too much. I think just a tad would be just right. A pleasing composition. The one thing I would change is to eliminate the bright blue on the left side as it is distracting attention from the lovely rose. Looking forward to more.
