    Default Early Morning Park Entry

I was wondering what people do to access the state parks before sunrise when they don't open until 7 AM? I know at Fort Desoto they have gates across the roads which I assume the use. Any thoughts?

You can get into Fort Desoto before 7 am. Most photographers are there well before sunrise with no problems. Fort DeSoto is not a state park, but if you are a state park pass holder, some of the places will give you codes to get into gates which is the case I know at Myakka River State Park.

I realized after I wrote my note that Fort DeSoto was not a state park ... I have an annual pass .. I have seen the gate to the east beach closed on occasion but it seems inconsistent. I will pay more attention. Thanks for the input
