Hey Keith how are you?
Yes, thats right it just the way it is, beautiful creature and not an easy capture out there in the wilderness

I'm good Richard hope all is well with you.
Cheers Keith.

Aye Keith not so bad here in very hot sunny Portugal

This could have been stunning if the light was behind you...we have all been there, many times:( ...like you , with this species, I'd have taken the photograph too. You cannot not photograph a Montagu's Harrier.

Well caught Richard, shame about the light but I am certain most people would have been unable to resist getting a shot of Monty. A little NR on the shadowed areas may help a bit.

Great catch! I would level the horizon. Was it possible to bring up the shadows and bring down the highlights in raw processing?

You have done well for a grab shot, been there many times , they are not the easiest bird to get and the light at this time of the year for most of the day is too strong, you will have to set your alarm for an early start.
