Chris I think the rest of the image more than makes up for the bit of mush in front of the leg, but do understand where you are coming from, those are three fat juicy grubs.
    Very nice job.
    Cheers Keith.

You could dodge the mushy bit to bring the leg out a bit but no big deal. Definately a keeper.

Hi Chris, lovely detail showing up on the wheatear, and overall well exposed too. That is a nice beak full of grubs.

Hi Chris , really a keeper and not for the bin.Nice colors and contrast and pleasing BKG . The mush in FG is not really disturbing.

A fine image except for the oof grass over the leg. The prey in the mouth really adds interest to an already nice pose. It's worth trying to add some contrast to the leg and surrounding grasses, to see if it makes the blur less noticeable. The image is most definitely worth keeping, and some effort to improve it.

What a great mouthful this guy has!
I would try cropping from the bottom to the mound of dirt and then increase the contrast around the leg to get rid of the OOF grass.
Definitely a keeper but I know how you feel about this. It is an "almost" great image but for the grass,
    Gail

Keep, keep, keep. It might take me an hour or so with Photoshop, but I could clean that up so you would never notice it, and I am no expert. Someone with more skill could do it faster. The focus of the image is the beak/eye/grub area and it is absolutely perfect. Nice shot.

Gorgeous image, lovely quality, I scrolled the image down the screen to the bottom of the tussock, it doesn't get rid of the offending grass but it far less apparent. I would most definitely keep it!

Sweet!! My favorite of yours from this species so far. Yes, the oof fg grass is quite unfortunate though, but some strategic used of the burn and dodge (and perhaps sponge) tools should take care of that very well. The pose, food item, comp, and background all make it worth working on that.

That's quite a mouthful, and this guy seems pretty proud of his catch. Absolutely love the grassy perch. Sweet looking image.

Chris, You've got the sharpness where it matters. Great pose, and composition. Pamela
