There's an abundance locally, and it's tough at first glance to tell them apart from the Willow and Alder Flycatchers. Their call is the best way to distinguish the difference. C&C welcome.

    Hi Geoffrey,
We don't see many posts of this bird so well done to get this bird in your files.
This image is not up to your usual standard .
The IQ and details are a bit coarse. Is this a big crop?
Another problem is the busy BG. I might clean up some of the twigs around the face,
    Gail

I love the species' plaintive call...makes it so easy to ID. Not easy to make come down form the treetops (only one has ever co-operated for me, out of many tries). The vertical comp goes well with the subject's shape and pose. Good exposure. Despite the busy BG I do find it has some interesting patterns and colours to it. I do wish for a better head angle, and some of the masking to blur the BG needs refinement IMO.

Thanks Gail and Daniel. Yes Gail it was a fair size crop. Daniel are you referring to the area around the tip of right wing? Thanks for pointing this out.
