This is a Griffon vulture that was obviously enjoying the quiet and peaceful sunrise. I love this photo because the combination of the steep grand mountain and the bird create an impressive effect.

The photo is from the last weekend, 70 AM. Bulgaria, Madzharovo.

    Mark II N, Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6 at 300mm. 1/400sec, f/8, iso 250, -1 ev/do. Wimberley II head.

Just awesome...really captures the mood of the moment well. And that BG is fantastic.

Great habitat image. The soft light and BG make this a very interesting image. Thanks for sharing.

Love it Nikolay Fully agree with you and I think the sweet light takes it over the top. If anything I would like seeing a little more of the trees below Big Congrats !!!!!

A very striking image and I agree with all of your self critiquing. What a gorgeous sight that must have been. Many thanks for sharing this with us.

Very nice Nikolay. I like how he seems to be afraid of getting to close to the edge and the opposing light in the upper left and lower right corners.

Gives an awesome and dignified atmosphere of the mightiness of nature (the steep cliff) and the beautifully-lit vulture in his natural environment.
