In ACR I applied a grad filter to the sky, in CS6 I selected the sky and used curves and selected the darken option (I tried others but this looked ok). I initially retained the 3:2 crop but tried this 4:3, then I used content aware to extend the sky. I then made a Hue saturation Adjustment Layer and lowered the yellows in the grass a little. I used the patch tool to eliminate two blades of grass that interfered with presentation.
    All C&C welcome.

Jonathan I really like this one too!
Fitting image for our theme - looks like mammatus clouds overhead? Colours look natural and balanced here.

Thank you Morke & Neil, I need to develop my skills at perspective enlargement of the sky, I showed this shot to my pal and the first thing he said was,"have you been monkeying around with the sky those cloud formations are wrong!".

Hi Jonathan - just gorgeous , a real stunner well processed .
If it was not me i would take it as is………… but i am Andreas (LOL) and i would try a bit more clarity /oomph or punch or whatever you want to call it.
    But that is just me…….

Thanks Andreas I will have a look - so long as it looks "natural" and pretty close to what the circumstances were I am happy.

Jonathan i agree about looking natural , sometimes it is just a matter of taste /wish how the image has to be…… rarely i feel we see images that are looking 100% " natural ". Mainly they are representatives of our visions , i think. And we all have different ……..

Great image Jonathan, great detail and comp, the clouds definately add nicely to the image. I Agree with Andreas a little more punch may be needed, i hope you dont mind but i took the libertly of adding a little more midtone contast to the image and then added a little more saturation to the greens and yellows, WDYT?

Love the colour, detail and overall lighting here Jonathan, Brendons RP has given that little extra punch.
You have done well with the sky extension too, a nice animalscape.

    Hello Jonathan!

Thanks to you, I can only think of a fox in terms of "vixen" these days
Also, I think this fox is now following you, and it's not the other way around...

Now seriously, this is one cool image and I am very taken with your fox, love the expression captured here, I also like what Brendon did above with his RP- just gave it that extra life, the "pop".

Very pretty and I can just image what a print would look like, with all those lovely yellow flowers, that blue sky and those lush greens - well done Jonathan, I enjoyed viewing very much and already wondering what your foxie character is going to do next, looking forward to the next image...

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Jonathan looking at this and reading the comments just shows how improvements can be made to an image that looked great to me at first view, as I'm sure you know this animals are not easy to get a picture of so very well done getting this.

    Cheers Keith.

Thanks Keith glad you liked it, it's a funny old world though on one o fmy earlier posts I increase contrast slightly and it gave a result similar to the current repost but feedback favoured a more neutral result! There is not an enormous difference - just a case of horses for courses I guess.

Stunning - love it. I would like to see a big print. Love the way the wide angle lens has slightly enlarged the centre of the frame, giving an (almost) fish-eye effect, just proving how close and intimate this is.

Great shot - of all styles of photos I always love a well executed close focus wide angle shot - this one fits the bill perfectly
