    Default Grasshopper Sparrow

One of many in a series from yesterday morning (645a) on a quick stop before work. It took three trips to get one of these guys onto a perch, but I really can't complain.

Nikon D800, Sigma 500mm, 1/640, ISO 400, f/5.6, flash on tripod. The perched was move from the edge of the field and the bird was called in with a recording--though he actually didn't wind up on the perch until I had given up and tried to call in a Savannah.

Minimal sharpening, some slight perch work (branch removal, highlights toned down), levels adjustments. I know the early AM light is casting the scene with some yellow light--just wondering if it's too much?

A terrific singing pose and I just love it when a bird splays his legs like that! Great light and simple perch
I would change your composition on this as I feel it is too square.
I would go for a more vertical presentation and take some off the RHS and LHS.
I would also desaturate the BG a bit as the green is a bit overwhelming,

Terrific singing pose, and I'm digging the thin "Y" perch - excpet I would attempt toning down the very brightest parts of it. Good details and BG. I agree the comp could/should be tweaked but all-in-all a fun image!
