Nice one Dennis. Well done I think the grass looks lovely aswell as the bird. The grass colours blend with the BG perfectly.

Nicely done with what you had to work with. Love the green with your owl, and especially those taller grasses. The owl has a great look back pose. I only wish for no cement on the left but not sure the image would be well balanced without it.

The OP was very nice, but the environment was a bit distracting. The RP removed the cement and made the owl pop. Very nice eye doctor work there Artie. Loi

Good call Artie on the RP, image has a 'cleaner' look & feel, (presentation) without loosing the overall appeal.

Artie, in 'the bush' at present so colour rendition is not ideal on the laptop with minimal connection too, but boosting the eye a fraction has helped although I might have lost the blue in the reflection, WDYT? I think I prefer the general plumage colours in the OP, just my take.

Dennis, is this a crop or FF, what camera was used? Adding a Midtone adjustment and a Channel Curves adjustment will help being more depth & tone to the subject. Would like to have seen all the feet in.

Agree. Too much cropping and re-saving of the JPEG has destroyed IQ. I had hoped to show that a small crop and adding some pop to the bird would improve this one along with some Eye Doctor work. I'd have done just fine starting with the RAW file :)

I probably boosted the Vibrance on the bird too much. I should have stuck with just some Detail Extractor and Tonal Contrast. Enjoy the bushes!
