    Tripod Canon 7D Canon 180mm macro ISO 320 1/500 sec f8
    My wife found this little chap in the back garden so I placed it on a couple of different flower/seed heads. I made a similar post a year or two ago when one of these beetles was perched on a flag iris by the garden pond.

    Thanks Peter - natural light - the sun came out for a few minutes -and it's not been back since then! I did use flash for some shots but when the sun was out I found it unnecessary. The camera was on a tripod and the seed head was clamped to a smaller tripod, the background is the lawn.
