Far too cute, Alan. Love the eye contact from both. Minor nit would remove the vertical white line intersecting reflection of head.

Love your image, the complimenting colors, the chick riding on the back of the adult. Wish it were mine, thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous, and so cute, how the babies ride like that! Ditto on the line. I'm not so sure about the color cast, although it may have been accurate for the light.

    Alan:

Excellent pose, head angles, shooting angle.

Is this from this season? If so, the loons there are well ahead of the Michigan loons that I follow, as they are still on the nest and probably have at least 7-10 days before hatching. This chick is probably 6-8 days old already.

The color cast does look unusual. Not uncommon to get some, but this seems remarkable.

    Cheers

Hey Randy, thanks. I'm about to head up to Canada for my Loon workshops and decided to post one from last year.

Superb image Alan. The colors and light are excellent and so is the composition. If it were mine I might just add a touch more room in front of the loon, but just my personal preference.

Taken not far from where I am here in Kelowna, BC.

All has been said, a great image the chick is the icing on the cake - or the loons back. Well captured , a lesson in how to do it.
