I took this at Fort DeSoto in April on a cloudy, cold day. (I had my gloves on!)
This skimmer was very obliging and was repeatedly skimming back and forth up and down the beach so it was easy to predict and track him/her.

Excellent incoming flight shot in action, Gail. Love the pano presentation.

    Gail:

Nice angle of approach, showing both eyes, the narrow bill, skimming action. Well framed/composed.

I might use a bit more detail extractor on the water being sprayed up from bill, make it pop just a bit more.

    Cheers

Unique shot of a skimmer skimming. Love the pano and the low POV, the way he's coming right at you. Beautiful bg color. Might have been tempted to brighten the eye just the tiniest of bits.

Love your pano crop and it really suites this subject! Love everything about this shot. Wonderful skimming action captured from the low angle makes this an extraordinary shot. Well done!

Superb! Pano crop is excellent, and I love the shooting angle. Typo in the SS?

    Hi Sid,
Thanks for picking up my error. You are right re: typo and it should read SS 1/1600.
Thanks for all the suggestions and will rework it,
    Gail

Unique and wonderful!! Would love to see more contrast/detail in the wake -- it's amazing!

Super job. I got many shots of the Skimmer during my trip, but none that come close to this. Can see both eyes, great color, placement and detail. I love it.

I love shooting skimmers. Their so unique looking. This one looks cool Gail. I like the head in shot and the skimming action caught. Good job considering the weather. Maybe try to enhance the water wake a bit to make it stand out more, otherwise it has a real neat look to it. Nice work Gail
