    Hi John. Fireweed is a pretty common, and attractive, native plant over here - but we probably won't see any flowers till July. You did a nice job getting many of the flowers in focus, but I'm not that fond of the lighting. This is a case where holding a diffusion screen between the sun and flowers would result in a major improvement of the lighting! Another thing you might do with an image like this is to look around the outer edges of the frame to see if some distracting elements could be removed. For example, there are some "stray" plant parts in both the LLC and LRC that are not adding to the image. There is a bright object just entering the frame on the left side about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom. You might consider removing some of the bright OOF areas in the ULC - especially those touching the frame. Also, there is a petal tip clipped by the top of the frame in the URC - you might add a little space there to either include the rest of the petal or remove a little space to make the petal look "cut" rather than "clipped." Just a few things to consider the next time out.
