It's sometimes said that a perch is too large for the bird. Here the Spoonie chose one that was a bit too small; he had trouble keeping his balance. From High Island Rookery. Levels, NR, USM, crop, and cloned out a few twigs.

Really nice light and colors. The detail is very good, and if the small branches on the bottom were cloned out, isolating the main one, for me it would be a plus. None the less, i really enjoy this image.

ps: nice to see the wonderfull detail of the d700 with the 500 f4, wish my sigma were up to that.

Nice Spoonbill... I like the colors and detail in the bird. I probably would take out the two low branches as Luis suggested, but that is personal choice. The branch it chose is light to support such a large bird, your title is well chosen.

    I really like the title.
I wish the birds left wing was a bit more symmetrical with the right side.
You exposed the whites perfectly and it is nice to see the feet so well.

Choosing a too small perch worked for your advantage, Bill. It created this nice pose.

    Very nice one Bill!
I donīt mind about the skinny perch because the light and pose make up for the rest, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful addition to your Spoonbill series. The pink is working very well with the green BG.

Thanks everyone. I suppose I might have cloned out those remaining twigs. I did clone some others, including a tricky one that went through the wing, and I guess I got tired of cloning. Perhaps I'll revisit it.
