    Default Oystercatcher learning to forage

Nature is just so perfect. Rather than being fed by the parent, the gentle father would find a morsel and the drop it right in front of the chick, so that the little one could find it and get the idea of foraging on his own.

Love it Grace. Nature can indeed be so gentle but it can also go the other way !! This is the kind of shot that will please so many "non naturalist" people too. One of my cockerals called a hen in the garden today about 50 yards away. She ran all the way across for a beetle about as big as the one in your pic!
I love the little seedlings in this one too. Thay add that bit of interest but not too much.
    Lovely pic indeed.

Grace, love it. Incredibly cute. The father and chick interaction, the low angle, the vegetation, and the morsel. Looks like an overcast day. If I wish for anything, may be a little more light and details on the white. Loi

The environment makes the photo - tiny forest of plants, little chick and nice mild background. I really love this one.

It is a very tender moment you got here. Must have been nice to observe, let alone photograph. Those little beach plants sure add alot here, and the rest of the beach is also nice and clean (although I do wish the tan "object" touching the youngster's chest was not there). Adult being turned away works OK in this instance.

Great looking intimate shot Grace. Both birds look beautiful and I like the greens below. Well captured.

A special moment in time captured. I like everything about your image, especially the tenderness between parent and chick. Thank you for sharing.

    I really like this.
What makes the image for me are the little plants.
Great POV and the interaction is so tender.
I like all the space at the top but could also see a version with a bit off the top.
Didn't notice the brown stem touching the chick until I read Daniel's comment.
    A keeper for sure,

Hi Grace, an opportunity well captured here, and well timed to show up your introduction. Love the overall exposure, and what a great low shooting angle you managed too.
