Tripod Canon 7D Canon 180mm macro ISO 400 + 0.67 1/40 sec f16. Ideally I could have done with a faster shutter speed.
I took this shot by the garden pond, I haven't a clue over ID - can anyone offer assistance please.
    All C&C welcome.

Hi Jon. This is a beautiful beetle and the "hairs" on its back seem very unusual for a beetle. (Sorry, I don't know what this is.) Very nice light, sharpness, pose, and background. I would wish that the tip of the seed head wasn't clipped by the frame. A tighter crop from the left could get rid of the "clipped" look. Other than that, this is very well done!

    Ey Up, Jon...

The beetle is a Red-tipped Flower Beetle and a very smart shot it is too.
