A giraffe that's alive and well, this time...
This one was enjoying some acacia leaves as a coming storm approached in Etosha, Namibia.

Awesome composition with the giraffe as the sole subject above the even line of low acacias, and against the featureless and solid blue-gray sky. Very dramatic! The pre-storm lighting adds a clarity to the acacia and giraffe that contributes to the overall drama.

    Hi Morkel,

Nice light and setting. I like the placement of the giraffe and the comp overall, my only wish is that there was a little less OOF FG. Could you have lifted the camera a little higher??... Good to see a giraffe feeding instead of being the feed.. The sky fooled me to, I did not see it as cloud.

    regards

Hi Morkel all looks good to me , lovely colors , contrast and a good working comp . I really like that blue/grey storm cloud color.
Only one little thing , if there is a bit of life in that eye , i would try to bring it out .

Love the true colour in the pre-storm sky with the arched necked browsing on this fella, nicely seen Morkel.

Lovely, lovely image Morkel, this giraffe has given you the opportunity of capturing a more unusual pose, I really like that neck stretched forward which made you choose a horizontal crop.

Love the space the subject occupies within the frame, the clean look of the image and colours, and I am also wondering - where have all the trees gone?

Great work Morkel, always something new from you, never boring, always exciting to view

    Kind regards,
