Good work Chris in what looks like harsh light. Great that the crab was the beneficiary as it provides a nice focus of attention and I like the eye contact. The eye appears to be in sunlight so I think a highlight would be nice to see. I also think the background is a bit bright and messy. I suggest you experiment on the background with surface blur using a large radius and reduce the brightness. I think this will better isolate the bird from the background and make it 'pop'. I look forward to seeing some more of your work. Regards, Ian

Good wings up position, and I like the prey item. I'm OK with the backlighting here as the subject looks good and it has given you a bit more mood. The background is a tad distracting though...at the very least I'd clone in the white spots the whitish area at bottom edge.

Welcome Chris, Nice flight pose and the crab adds. Wish the b/g was a little smother, but a nice flight shot.
