    Default noise or sensor problem

    i don't know what this really is shot at iso 400 i have tried cleaning my sensor myself awhile ago and don't know if that caused it or its noise this a screen grab from DPP at 200x
    iam using a 1d iv would love some ideas and help because its driving me nuts

    I don't see anything but noise (grain) in the BG. It is normal. Setting sharpness too high has accentuated it. use 2-3 for sharpness.

    thanks Arash i was hopping you would comment i normally set it at 3 don't why not this time
    iam still learning even at 400 iso should you still see noise at viewing 100% +

    A dirty sensor wouldn't cause noise or other artifacts at this spatial frequency. When a sensor gets warm you will get more noise, but I can't say what that practical limit is for an ordinary daytime scene that is properly exposed. I'd think it might be negligible. It is an issue in long-exposure night photography.

    Hi Derek,
    Areas that are uniform and a bit dark will show some grain if you zoom beyond 100%. There is always variation in the values of pixels even in a uniform area because of shot noise. Applying too much sharpening or other corrections during RAW conversion can enhance the appearance of grain. A gentle touch of NR will take care of it at full size and it won't show at small size.

    your camera is fine.
