Here is another long-shuttertime-image of gulls. I downloaded another one of this kind in the box with wild birds. My experience of this kind of photos is that they often divides us as viewers in two opposite categories, those who like it and those who do not like it at all.

The other photo is for my book about gulls next year or maybe 2010. This one - cropped a bit to suit the page - or maybe it was yet another one, rather similar to this, photographed at the same occasion was just included in a new edition of Jonathan Livingstone Seagull, by Richard Bach, with a rather exciting design by a Swedish designer famous for his CD-covers who has included 27 or 28 of my photos of gulls (those I don't need for my own book about gulls next year, and two photos which may be in both books, it's two different kind of books, so I don't think that matters).

Like the bird in the upper right center but otherwise much too much chaos for me. The water in the bottom center and the blurred gull head in the llc are distracting. Compare that blurred head with the relatively sharp one of the first bird that I mentioned. I love blurs but not this one. You should, therefore, enter it in the BBC contest!

What were all of those gulls doing in one spot???

No, I am not fond of this either, myself I much more prefer the blurring of the'White Eagles' which I downloaded at Avian-threads.

But you are probably right about BBC:D, there have been some odd photos (but also a lot of good ones), I havn't entered that competition for three years, but I was maybe going to this year, but when I searched for it I found that they had changed the last entering month from last day in April to last day in March, if I recall it right.

..................... great point about the BBC contest Artie. Did make me laugh !!!!

Even with all the chaos I sort of like it. Wish the one bird at the center was more centered. Might have gone for a slower shutter speed !!!
