    Default Forster's Tern diving

    1D Mark III + Canon 400mm f/5.6 L
    1/8000, f/6.3, ISO 1250
    I didn't need this much SS to freeze this action, but I was also trying to get some shots of them diving in to the water. So I bumped up the ISO setting.

    Hi Binu, Good execution and nice light. Was this a big crop? I am not familiar with this species but expected to see just a little more feather detail - maybe I expect too much. Regards, Ian

    Not easy to catch these guys while diving. Great ventral view, with good head position, eye and feet showing, nice tail flare. Good one.

    great dynamic pose and good exp. too. I like the fanned tail as well.

    Ya, I like it too. Love shooting Terns and trying to get them diving, it is one of my goals when I am shooting them.
    Although this looks like the start of a dive, the pose and wing position look great. The exposure and detail are right on also.

    Thanks Ian! This is more than 80% of the frame. I'll try Nik detail extractor and see whether it makes any difference.
