    Default Avocet in flight

    Attached Images Attached Images

Another one from Southern California, last December.
I really like this species in their winter plumage too.

    Canon 1D4, 700mm
    1/2500, f6.3, ISO 500
    Manual, HH

This is full frame. But I move the bird back in the frame a touch (cropped from the right and added that much to the left)
Blended in a lighter streak (from the far bank) in the bg.

    All input appreciated.
    Thanks.

Very nice angle showing top and bottom sides of wings, appropriate background, good eye contact, technically spot on. Well done.

Sid, this is a really nice shot of this specie which I have found to be very skittish here on the Texas coast. Love the BG & wing position. Well done.

Hi Sid, great capture here, as we dont normally see images of these guys in flight, and you pretty much nailed a great flight pose too. Overall well exposed, sharp, and you cant complain about that BG.
