Default Chestnut-sided Warbler on Blooming Dogwood.

A fun common little warbler of new growth forests near open fields. This fella was most cooperative as it perched on a couple of setups I had going. These are two separate twigs that I fastened above one another to create a more dynamic presentation.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/640s., f/10, ISO 400, natural light, handheld, small crop for comp, darkened the pupil, subject attracted to setup perch with audio.

Jeez, you're making me want to hop on the next flight to Ottawa. A warbler shot cannot get any better than this.
My only nit is that I wish the flowers on the left weren't cut off.
How do you keep your flowering perches fresh in your setups?

Lovely setup, great lookback pose. Maybe just a tad oversharpened, and I'm not convinced it's Dogwood. But a fine shot in any case.

Excellent setup and a truly nice image of this beauty, Daniel.
I think they like setups that has more than one branch.
It gives them a more natural feel and security.
    Besides it looks better.

Lovely. Everything is perfect here. I'm with Bill on the flower species, don't think it's dogwood, but I have enough trouble with bird id's. :)

    Thanks a bunch guys!

Sidharth, I was at that location the previous morning and noticed the blooming bush as I left so I made it a point to return the next morning specifically for them...they were pruned at time of setup thus no need to keep fresh .

What a sweet little setup shot Daniel. The colors on this little bird are great. That little rust on the flank really pops on this shot. Your solid techs and nice flowering branch make for some nice eye candy. Nice.
