    Default Snowy Egret Courtship

Another from High Island Rookery last month. Luckily much of the BG was already dark as shown here, including the area behind the plumes. I toned down some highlights in a portion of it, and on the perch. I know it would have been nice if the rear bird's bill weren't disappearing behind the front bird, and the HA's were a bit better, but I liked the interaction and the way the birds jumped out of the bg. C&C always appreciated.

Both images look great but my preference is the second one. Great work, Bill.

Well done with a difficult exposure. The first one tells the story better to my eye.

First thing that struck me was how much this looks like a 'Realism' art painting. The quality of light, the BG, perch angle, and yes the partially obstructed tip of the beak. One of your best IMO. This image should also be hanging in a museum.

Having trouble figuring which one I like best also. Both have there place. Good looking exposure and details along with two cool poses makes for a real keeper. Well done Bill
