It's been really hectic lately, and I apologize for not being around much. Since I haven't had the time to process anything, I dug into my archives. This is one that I processed many moons ago when I first started using plugins. Topaz Oil paint and simplify blend. I wanted a painterly effect with split tones where the shadows show a color contrast with the overall orange tone, to that end I'm satisfied. However, there are some issues with the finished piece that I'm not happy with so it's slated for an overhaul, contrast and edge artifacts among them. C&C welcome and appreciated.

Randall, do you want this to be for the THEME? I like the chaos of everyone working on something different and yet the image is tied together by the orange colors and all the outstretched arms.

I like it as is. I like the action and the tight crop. Could you explain how you did the shadows.

I like it too as is, a really nice painterly effect. The impression I get is that of a photo-realistic style of painting. Well done.

    Thanks for the C&C!

Nancy-I think it's my week to judge, rendering me ineligible for the theme-unless the schedule has changed?

Jackie-The tight crop is actually one of the things that bugs me, there is space available along the top edge, unfortunately my workflow at the time was a bit backwards. I tended to crop first, then experiment. This was processed 3 years ago, but going from memory the Oil paint preset pushed the shadows toward complimentary hues which I then tweaked with the sliders in the Adjust color menu. I was new to PS Elements and Topaz so it couldn't have been anything too complex wrt layers, blend modes etc.

    Kerry-Thanks!

Randall, I think you are correct about judging.

I like the dynamic position of the foreground figure! Very strong.

You mention that this image is due for an overhaul... I like it as is, but I understand that impulse. I often look at older work and see it differently. We change, but our images don't...

What I like best is the action! I also like the colors. It is clear that orange is this team's colors. I don't mind the tight crop. I like the various angles.
