    Default Yellow-billed Duck wingflap

I realise the yellow-billed duck is angled slightly away from me, but this is all about showing of the lovely green speculum. The early light has shown it up perfectly, and no saturation was added at all. Taken at my local pond last weekend.

    Stuart Sir,
Wonderful image with nice wing position showing beautiful greens. Very nice eye contact, beautiful lights, details and composition.
Love the way duck pops up against lovely water and his yellow beak.
Do the green color of speculum changes according to light angle ?

    Regards,
    Satish.

Thanks Satish. Yes it does, as Ive watched them change direction whist swimming close by, and it changes to a deep blue.

Looks like the duck is conducting in this pose Stu. Lovely detail and rich colours. Not sure if you have applied any NR, it's just gives a nice smoothness to the BKG but then it's where it meets the subject, the line is so clean & crisp, wonder if backing off the amount might help, WDYT?

Superb colors and perfect shutter speed to freeze the body and allow the slightest hint of movement at the wing tips.

Good choice of Shutter speed as it froze the motion altogether. Love the pose and detail Stuart. Well done.

I really like the lit-up speculum and that great full forward wing position.
I agree with you that it is a pity the head wasn't turned more our way but I like this image anyway,

This is indeed all about the speculum...and its looking quite dazzling! I agree about the HA, which would have been extra gravy. I'm wondering what the small greenish spot touching the top of the bill is?

Hey Stu, you need to write a how-to-guide on sharpening technique! Excellent light, details and love that glowing speculum. Agree that a slight head turn our way would've been ideal, but this works. Nicely done.

Talk about the right angle to light up those speculums. Great looking pose Stuart and the detail is perfect. I too wish the HA was a bit better but still a real beauty. Well done.
