    Default Southern Lapwing.

Recently I visited one of our wet lands in the northern plains of Costa Rica.
The day could not have been any hotter! lots of birds and lots of light to shoot them! in the tropics you either have a LOT of light or donīt have enough light, you gotta love it though...

    For this one I used

    1D4
    600f/4+1.4TC=840mm
    f/6.3
    ISO400
    EV -2/3
    SS 1/1600sec
Hand held from a rocking boat!
Processed in DPP and PS CS 6, small crop for compo.

    Thanks for looking.

Great looking bird Juan Carlos. Nice light and wonderful feather detail, including in the blacks. Thanks for showing us a little of the environment. Top shot, well done. Cheers, Ian

Hi JC, great low perspective, and the light has brought out the iridescence on the wing nicely. Nice and sharp, and nicely posed in the open.

A lapwing I havent seen before.

Really sweet, and you handled the light perfectly. Love this one! Never would have guessed that it was hand held from a boat, so nice and sharp.
