    Antarctic Prion, one of the small pelagic seabirds of the Southern Ocean. The image was captured on 6 January 2014 at sea off Macquarie Is, Australian sub-Antarctic.
    Canon 5DIII + 300 mm f/2.8L II + 2x III extender, hand-held.
    Av priority, f/7.1, 1/5000 sec, ISO 800, EC +2/3 EV.
    Processed in DPP: crop, adjust WB, shad/h'lights, USM, RAW-TIFF. PS Elements: background NR using median filter, adjust levels on bird, lighten face, downsize TIFF-JPEG, USM.

    Superb top-surface banking image of this petrel. I like the head angle, and the fact that it shows a few of the plates on the upper bill. This species filters zooplankton through these plates in the upper bill. I like the background - nice to see the horizon and well done that it does not intersect the wing on the bird. This is flight photography at the extreme - pelagic boat trip on rough ocean. Well Done!

    Technical prowess is definitely highlighted in this topside banking shot. Tack sharp image of this small speedster. Well done!
    I find the overall image quite dark and would increase the exposure or brightness.

    I agree great shot of this bird and I love the pose but overall looks quite dark to me too. An increase of probably two thirds would be great. We'll done
