    Default Red Knot

    Taken in Sanibel, Florida
I was very fortunate to be in Sanibel when this flock of 15 or so knots ( migrants on their way north) decided to stop for a couple of days on the beach directly in front of the condo we were renting.
None of them had bands which was a treat as all of the knots I have seen have been banded.

    ISO 800
    SS 1/2000
    F 7.1
PP: Small crop of ~15% ( so 85% full frame), levels, increased saturation by +6, DE at 3 % and USM to JPEG at 30%. I lightened the dark patches in the BG using the dodge tool.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

Gail, this is a beautiful shot. Dynamic wing position, low POV, great details and sharpness. I like the water droplets and the reflection too. Loi

Nice wing position and low angle. OOF dark line behind the wind stops near the right wing, is it due to cloning?

Beautiful image Gail! I like the low angle, optimal wing position and the suspended droplets. We get a few of these on the left coast, but they are pretty skittish along the coast. I would love to get so close.

    hi Troy,
this is not due to cloning.I did dodge the OOF brown area (which is a large brown shell called a razorback).

Fantastic pose, and the flying droplets add so much. A wonderful bird, glad you had this opportunity to enjoy them. Unbanded is a huge bonus!

Great wing position, excellent detail and great eye contact, Gail. This is an excellent species to have in breeding plumage.

Just gorgeous, Gail. Great bathing pose with perfect wing stretch, eye contact, water drops. Beautiful breeding plumage on this master of migration. Checks all the boxes.

This Photo has it all !

Great composition and position of the wings. Fine exposure and details. But what I like the most is the delicate pastel colours and how the water and the background is melting together while the Red Knot is in focus.

Beautiful pose you have here Gail and I love the flying water drops. The techs look great and I really like the contrasty colors of this Redknot. Nice frame.

Hi Gail, lovely low shooting angle, and I like the swept back wing position. The Knot is tack sharp, with lots of detail to look at. I do like the pastel colours of the BG too. Well captured.

Hi Gail, you're just nailing these bathing bird images. Excellent low angle, superb pose and eye contact. Superb details, but I think I'd reduce the sharpening just a hair on this one. I've got to make it to Sanibel some day (and add to the crowd!)
