You've posted some nice shots from this outing Andreas but this one stands out for me. I like the interaction and the BG and overall color palette is perfect for a seaside photo.

One stunner after another, Andreas! Never bored with brilliant shots like these and I like the exposure on the blacks here, and the way the fur shines in that beautiful light! I cannot think of a better crop, I normally like to get closer to the face but this is just right for me, leads the eye towards the place where the action is, great stuff, hope there's more?

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Andreas - nice action and well timed. The comp works for me. Very interesting to see the nails of the flipper out. I'm again seeing a slight halo around. Also there's a blue cast to the blacks of the lower body of the seal on the right.

    Rachel

Thanks Steve, Gabriela and rachel for your thoughts and comments. I am glad you like this one.
Rachel , yes you are right with the slight halo , will watch better for that in the next frame . Regarding the cast , i knew that you or Steve would say that , i myself also try to keep an eye on that. But i disagree in the seal images i have taken in sunny conditions , better said with clear blue skies.
While i was sitting on the beach and was watching the scenes , and not shooting , i was trying to observe the colors that are going on around me.I was looking how the blues could be seen in real life with my subjective eyes, and i saw a lot of blues are present on the seals when they are wet and you have a bright clear blue sky .
So during PP i eliminated some of that blueness but left it in in parts , hope this helps , and i will leave it that way, cause it looks like i have seen it with my eyes.

    Thanks Andreas

Hi Andreas, my only though is either some more USM or you needed a tad more SS? I like the interaction and the mottled sea BKG very much.

Hi Andreas - fantastic shot! Love the interaction and the fantastic timing.

I also thought that there might be some softness in the rear seal, but was reluctant to mention as I was surprised that there would be at 1/1000sec. Anyway, think the rp addresses this. Ideally, I would like the empty space to be to the right of the subjects, rather than the left, but I guess you might not have enough space...?

    HI Andreas

At work on laptop, can not comment on colours.

See the bit of blue on back, but is how it is...

Like the RP with USM applied more, any issue with softness dealt with.

Personally I like the space on left, this is where the aggressor was/is coming from.
    Regards

    Andre.

Hi Andreas - that's fine about the cast. As always, you were there but I thought I should mention it.

Love the action here, Andreas! The repost takes care of what struck me as possible improvements in the OP and was pointed out by others as well.
