So cool to have a photo from the 30's Judy. I really like the toning, framing, and in this case authentic vintage feel.

The aging you applied goes very well with the subject. Both the color and textural aspects of the textures are well-suited to a scene like this.

Thanks Dennis. It wasn't exactly what I wanted and wasn't sure if it worked well so I'm glad that you think it did. After it was too late I thought maybe I should have tinted the photo a little first. That is the first time I tried to color a photo with textures and it wasn't easy and took a long time playing with the textures!

How unique....and cool...."aging" a vntage photo. I don't think any more color would be needed. Textures do it just right as is.

I agree with Hazel...this is a really cool just as it is. It evokes a very authentic sense of time and place.

Thanks very much Hazel and Wendy!

The textures are great & the results look real. (Oh, it is real!!) I can almost feel the effects of that dark, sooty coal smoke! I assume you scan these old images into your computer. I really hadn't thought about that and think I'll look around and see what I might have the attic.

Post a Thank You. - 1 Thanks

Very nice! A great photo to start with. How nice to use one of your father's photos. Using textures does take a lot of time. I'm wondering if that is one boat or a boat and a barge? Do you know?

Judy, this just feels "right". Everything about the processing gives an authentic look to the image, from the tones to the woven texture. If it weren't for the hard edged vignette, it would be difficult to differentiate it from an old linen postcard. Nicely executed.

Judy,
I like what you did with this pic. The mood is great. Your father did a nice job also! I wonder what type of camera he was using?
