    I like this a lot. A little more room at the bottom and the leaf underneath the head made less visible would help in my imagining.

    Adding a Midtone luminosity adjustment layer just pulls out a bit more depth & detail to the stem & subject Jonathan. Might blend in that grass blade to keep the BKG uniform?

    I like the subject and perch, lots of details on the wing! I agree smoothing out the faint grass stem would be good as it seems to pull the eye there.

    I played with that blade of grass and deliberately left it there I didn't want the background to look too contrived. The consensus would appear to disagree with my thought.

    Hi Jon. Another strong image with good light, comp, and sharpness. Here's yet another vote for blurring the tip of the OOF leaf as it is just sharp enough to catch my eye.
