The gardeners at the local park said this was the first flower to come out in the spring. Sometimes in Britain it will bloom in December. I used textures form Belle Fleur, cloned in some white areas over some sharper petal edges, and used an action from Melissa Gallo to give subtle edge definition to the center of the flower.

There is just enough form to make the image inviting or, perhaps, to evoke more attention and discovery. And enough yellow to make it warm and appealing. I really like this.

Very delicate and like a whisper, soft and a bit mysterious. A stunning and creative treatment, Jackie. Great composition with the inner yellowish parts leading the eye to the point of the darker triangle that then spreads out to the right.

A delicate treatment of a delicate flower. Nice use of textures. I wonder about making it a bit off center.

Jackie- This one has an eternal feel. A real beauty. Like Anita, I might experiment with offsetting it a touch by taking a sliver off the top and left edges. A perfect image as is, or framed with words.

Thanks for the comments, I did print it on a card and made the cropping more off-center.

Jackie: What type of printer do you use to print your cards? Are you happy with it?

Anita I have an Epson 3880 Printer. I really like it. Paid about $1500 for it which included the inks which are worth about $600 dollars. It is quite intuitive and prints on a variety of papers. The one weakness is canvas which it can print on, but the rollers don't seem to grab it. You have to make a leader out of paper and I tape a tiny piece on the edge using painters' tape. Canon has the edge on printing on canvas, but on the whole this is a terrific printer, and probably much more reasonably priced. Also they have rebates all the time. I am in my second or third year of owning it( can't quite remember), and haven't even gone through a second set of ink. Each cartridge is 60ml.
