Another first Wood Warbler at the pool on digital
Its been been a bit dodgy this year with one thing or another but things seem to be picking up
We have swallows back in a shed in the garden after 20 years. I think I will be neglecting the Little Owls for them !! We have a redstart on eggs in a box in the garden and the pool is picking up. This is my first ever digital wood warbler at the pool hide.. It turned up on the hazel branch right in front of the hide and posed for two minutes then dropped down to bathe. One I’ve been after for years. Got some very nice blackcaps -male and female too. Certainly about the sharpest Wood warbler I've ever taken

    Well done John,
I think the pose of the bird is perfect and without any distractions interfering with it.

    John,

Really nice perch and pose, nice background, the warbler is very sharp. I really like this excellent capture. My only suggestion is that it seems just a tad on the dark side, so perhaps trying an increased brightness / exposure by 1/3 stop and seeing how that looks. Otherwise, really a nice composition, congrats on a great shot!

Like the position of the bird on the branch and eye contact. The leafs are well placed too, so the composition rocks. And it's sharp :). I guess BG blur can be improved only. Great job John. Cheers! Miro

Beautiful shot and an even better setting. Really like the "smooth" BG and the perch with the leaves at the top is perfect. Perfect pose and nice detail in the feathers. One of your best!

    Hi John,

A very fine shot with a great composition and super details. The leafs above the Warbler frame the bird well and the background is perfect. Yes, the photo is at the dark side, but that is how I like it myself ... ; - )

I agree with the above comments, it is one of the best WW shots I have seen, and that's not me blowing sunshine JR, it really is a first class shot.

Although I like the "dark woods" original post I do prefer the lightened repost. Excellent pose, good perch, and I really like the leaves at the top of the frame. A few blotches in upper right corner could be smoothed out...I aimgine that is where you removed the Buttercup that you mention?

I messed around a bit for my signiature !!!
One thingI didn't mention was that there is no extra sharpening on this apart from the norma downsice dollop. Camera on normal. The D7100 and that lens is a killer when you get it right.
