    Default 3's a Crowd

This was the ONLY photo opp of the 3 eastern screech owlets at the cavity together. As you can see, there simply wasn't enough room and the little one was squeezed out by its older siblings.

This photo opp resulted from volunteering. Last year the City was planning on cutting this nest tree down until a nearby resident who was aware of the nest called a rehabber. The rehabber asked me to drive over there (about an hour drive) and take pictures of the tree and cavity. By the next day, she had saved the tree and nest, as well as 3 young from last year and 3 more from this year. Volunteering can be great fun, very satisfying and can offer some pretty amazing opportunities.

C & C most welcomed and much appreciated.

Marina this is my favorite of the series so far!
Love the good exposure, alert pose of this guys and flash work. It certainly pays to be a volunteer at times! So glad you were able to take advantage of the opportunity!

Very cute is right. Love the bottom one being just squeaking out. Techs look good as usual and I like the title also. You have had a pretty productive owl season this year. Lots of great stuff!! See ya soon.

Love this shot, they are comical and when squeezing through such a tight cavity, i am sure it was even more fun to watch.

Missed this one earlier for some reason. Great story and great shot to go with it. Love the tree texture too.
I,m just about ready to start my session this year with the Little Owls unless something exceptional turns up.
    Cheers
