I can't believe the name of this flower, ( I feel like trumpets or a 21 gun salute will go off at any minute) and it looks like a pineapple to me. I used Topaz Simplify > Painting IV, then added some textures. I masked the buds back in. Taken at a local park where they have wonderful flowers and trees.

Jackie, you've outdone yourself. The colors, the composition, and the unusual flower with the unusual name are wonderful. Did I mention the colors? They're a combination of a number of elements, and you orchestrated them beautifully. I love the way they change and interact throughout the image.

I like your low angle of view (did you lie down to take this photo?). Nice repetition of the orange color. The simplification and textures work really well, with the emphasis on the flowers.

Very nice Jackie, lovely colors and textures that fit this regal flower nicely. I often wonder how some flowers (and birds!) got their names... Makes me wonder if there is a "prosaic common fritillary".

They are about three feet high, so I was squatting Anita.
Kerry no prosaics, they are too beautiful.
