    Another grey day in the sub-Antarctic, 3 January 2014, off Auckland Island. White-capped Albatross breed on islands in the NZ sub-Antarctic and a few islands off Tasmania where it is called Shy Albatross.
    Canon 5DIII + 300 mm f/2.8L II + 2x III extender, hand-held.
    Av priority, f/7.1, 1/2500 sec, ISO 1250, EC +2/3 EV.
    Processed in DPP: crop, adjust WB, reduce highlights, USM, RAW-TIFF. PS Elements: adjust levels on left wing, brighten eye, background NR, downsize, USM.

    Like the composition and wings position over the see. So nice bird, the shape of the bird is fantastic on this photo. Like the natural color processing and the light. Cheers! Miro

    I like that you have a relatively low angle that allows us to see the sea waves quite clearly at bottom. Good pose, I especially like the near wing and rounded back. My feeling is that the image would also work well with some cropped off the top. Very nice image :-)

    Ian I would love to see a bird like this some day.
    You got some great details to display in this one. Light seems a bit soft but I guess it helped you to get the right exposure. If mine, I would place the bird higher in the frame if possible. Still a great picture.
