    Great action stopping image lovely detail/sharp. It is probably the lighting conditions but I am slightly surprised at how dark the plumage is. Is it possible the contrast is a little high??

    Thanks. You are right, the winter light few minutes before sunset did it and I decided not to change it. And last but not least we call this area Black Pond. Cheers! Miro

    Love the way the heron pops against that dark background. The light was stunning and you have super details in your bird. Fun pose on the legs. Wish the near wing had a better position. All in all a pleasing image!

    Overall I really like this image. I agree with Marina about wing position.
    To me it looks like it needs a little CW rotation as the lines in the image all seem to run diagonally down to the left.
