Hi Chris, sweet, sweet light, and you captured a pretty neat pose. I do like the combination of all the earthy colours, and we have a great view of his breakfast.

Love it, gorgeous colours and super pose, I would try to move him a little over to the left for composition, and reduce the empty space a little on the left.

Very nice capture Chris. Wonderful light and background. The crop is a matter of personal taste, which many people will like, but I would prefer a little bit less on the LHS. Cheers, Ian

Hi Chris, like the overall colour palette on this one, nice golden colours that tie in well with the subject. I quite like the 'mush' but struggle a little that it is on the stone, but not covering any 'key' areas, so I will ask, have you added anything, just curious? I think Stu, it's either a caterpillar or mealworm not an earthworm, as they tend to be longer and red/pink in colour, although not up to speed on bird food, but I do know my way around a steak . Techs look good Chris and I like the slight HA towards you. I think you could go a little tighter working from top LHC down, but all subjective. I see these feeding in the ploughed fields early in the morning on the regular drive to the Little owls, nice to see.

Looks about right to me Chris. Ours have young too and got one or two shots last week.
The grub looks like a cut worm - or a moth a moth caterpillar. They form a very large proportion of their diet. Having said that -it could also be a crane fly larvae !
    Cheers

I respectfully disagree. I love the image design as is and I like the bird in heaven look created by the o-o-f rock. You chose the perfect perspective.

Worm + light + perfect HA = terrific image!
I would take a sliver off the LHS for personal taste,

Great bird, Gorgeous light and prey item in the beak all make for a very good image, Chris. One of these little buggers lead me a right merry dance this morning, and I still didn't get the shot.
