looks like the ibis is standing in mid air on Halloween hollering "boo" to the sun.

another good one in your silhouette series Sid....the sun looks good with that touch of color in it

Cool pose and I really like that the sun shines through some of the feathers.

Great image, Sid. Love the feet. I only wish that the tip of the bill and the wing didn't slightly overlap. The sun rendering the feathers almost completely transparent is a great effect.

Most of these images that people post don't work because the sun is usually to bright. You seem to know how to control this very well as all of your images of this type are real fine captures.

    Joe,

Sun's intensity just before sunset will be low enough to manage. most of my images are made just before sunset.

    Thanks for your kind words.

Sid you are a master at these. Nicely done. Perfect silhouette and the sun is perfect! Love the spread wingspan too.

I am lightly allergic to sunsets, usually. But I really like this one. Good composition, a little bit of action. Very good. I don't think the beak meeting the wing is particularly disturbing on this one either. It works, because you don't have any problem seeing what is what.

Sid, this is great stuff! A really fine image of a great sunset moment. Your exposure is spot-on to give us just a hint of sun detail without severely underexposing the remainder of the image. Keep on experimenting around sunset!

Another good one but a shame that the bill merged with the wing. Looks like some noise or posterization in the darker orange in the lower center.
