Sorry for the lack of participation. Have had very little time for photography lately.

This is a Black crowned night heron in late evening light.

    1/1250, f6.3, ISO 1000
    HH, Manual

    All input appreciated. Thanks.

Background sets it up to be a beautiful image, the greyish white of the heron makes it stand out
you know what caught my eye when i saw the image, the classic eye of the bird and those 4 drops of water :)
    Great exposure
They are found in India however never manage to get one in flight as they take off nearly after sunset

    This is lovely Sid.
Great BG and gotta love the drops.
    Nice and sharp.
Is there a bit of a mauve color cast to the far wing? An easy fix for you,
    Gail

Great flight shot, Sid. Nice flight angle, wing position, and the eye is sharp as a tack. Maybe a bit bluish?

Oh wow! This is a super image with great separation between the subject and background. A lot to like here - well done. Regards, Ian

There have been so many great flight shots posted recently and this is right up there with them, Sid. Wing position is excellent and the lovely soft light adds heaps to the shot. Great work.

Hi Sid, I like the flight pose - we can see the underwing of one wing, and the the top view of the other. Classic red eye, and the droplets add to the image against that killer BG.

This fellow looks exactly the same as our BCNH.

Thanks for all the feedback. Good call on the color cast Gail and Bill. I had reduced the blue quite a bit, but it does look better with a few more tweaks. Thanks!

Awesome shot Sid. Love the wing position and the HA and those hanging legs really look great. The detail and exposure are perfect. Nice capture of a not to often seen BIF.
