Hi Folks; Didn't like the black end of perch, so took it off.

I like the colors and the pose of the hummingbird a lot. The composition is good, too. Your first version of the perch appeals to me more than the second. I like the extra length, and the darkness at the end provides some balance for the dark in the hummingbird. I wonder how it'd look with the canvas texture subdued.

Hi Gus, these are so vibrant and your image conveys that trait well. Nice pose and the background compliments nicely. I too prefer the first, the perch in the RP is too short and doesn't balance the subject nearly as well. maybe dodge the shadow on the stick to lighten it a little?

Gus, I'm in the camp preferring the 1st post with the longer perch. I really like how the bkgd colors blend and complement the hummer very nicely. However I think the texture overwhelms the hummer. Great pose on that brilliantly colored little bird!

yes, my first reaction was, wow, that's a lot of texture for such a delicate subject. I think it blurs the bird too much. I, too prefer the balance of the original. Like the eye contact.
