Beautiful light and details, Joe. I like the slanted perch and the habitat here.
There's a halo around the head/back that could be easily addressed.
If I'm not mistaken, this is now called Baltimore Oriole.
Here's a blurb from Cornell:
"The Baltimore Oriole hybridizes extensively with the Bullock's Oriole where their ranges overlap in the Great Plains. The two species were considered the same for a while and called the Northern Oriole, but in the 1990s, after genetic studies, they were separated again."
This species' flute-like song is one of my favorites of the forest. Goode vertical comp, although I could see the subject placed a bit higher in the frame. Nice details, good exposure. Tough BG with a few distracting elements but you did well with this fella.
